As Jurisdiction Sunday School Superintendent (supt.) for the Florida Central Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, I am grateful that God has allowed me the opportunity to lead such a great group of people. As superintendent, I am praying that God will continue to show me his plan for the Jurisdiction State Sunday School department. As Supt., my desire is to build a good relationship with each Pastor and their Superintendent, so together, with the help of God we can make their Sunday School the best it can be. I also desire to see that each Sunday School department in each
church grow in participation. With growth there is opportunity to formulate classes that meet the needs of that particular church. Like for example, there may be a need for a marriage class, a finance class, or singles class etc. The sole purpose for Sunday school is for the people to gain good sound doctrine. As Supt. I will be looking for churches to be creative in their Sunday school department to meet the needs of their church.

As superintendent, my desire is to promote the FLCSEJ Sunday School department. My plan is to train, teach and be a good leader that is committed to the FLCSEJ Sunday School department. My plan for training is to establish workshops and or seminars twice a year for all superintendents and teachers. These training sessions will also be available for lay members if they desire to attend. The purpose of training superintendents and teachers is to give them resources to take back to their local church.

My plan for teaching is to set up a Jurisdiction Sunday School board, which will consist of District Superintendents. The purpose of the Sunday School board is to meet the needs of the Sunday School Departments. With this Sunday School board we hope to reach every member’s needs in the FLCSEJ. This board will also focus on bringing unity and consistence in the Sunday School department. The Sunday School board would be responsible for developing the following:

1. Materials for Sunday School
2. Church resources (Supply)
3. Needed Training (State, district or local church)
4. Workshops
5. Courses for Bible College

In my closing, I’m looking forward to working with the Sunday school Departments in the FLCSEJ. My prayer for the Sunday school is to bring quality training and unity to this great Jurisdiction. I realize without a vision and guidance from God this department will not function properly. I believe with the use of this Sunday School board we as a Jurisdiction can make this plan of operation a great success.
